These men are rolling out an 0.45 mil rubber roof. This covers screw fastend insulation board, and is better glued at all surfaces. There are free floating systems as well that are covered with stone called catalist. All seams will be covered with a high grade lap sealent. Standard proceedure on any rubbr roof system is all perimeters should be fastend with termination bar.Chimneys will have termination bar installedas well.
In some cases, before proceding with a roof installation, it can be beneficial to know where water build up is. And what layers of existing roofing, decking, insulation and/or other materials are on the roof. This can often be helpful in analyzing ventilation concerns as well as in looking at the condition of the roof decking. To do this, a “core sample” is removed by either sawing or hole-cutting into the roof. The core can then be removed and analyzed. The core must be replaced and securely sealed in order to prevent future problems.
